"Oh, Great Spirit, keep me from ever judging a man until I've walked in his moccasins."
In my opinion, this statement means before we judge somenoe that is different from us, we need to put ourselves to the same position as them and try to think about what will happen. this statement probably reflect the smae situation in the video which we watched in class. In this world, everybody has same rights to be equal to others. We should to respect everybody and do not judge others by using a wrong view, like social level , eye colors, skin colors or thers. I sitll believe taht discrimination happens in somewhere in this world. Actually is is hard to solve this problem, because it stay in deeper of our mind base on different backgrounds, different cultures. No one want be discriminated, the best we can do to improve the situation is stop discriminate to each other.

I think you have the same idea with me bout discrimination. I also think the cause of discrimination depends on the different social classes in our society. Especially the rich people and poor people. I hope in the future, this phenomenon will be replaced. Please, comment on my blog after you read it. Thanks Bellen!

putting ourselves in someone's shoe..aint that easy...
ReplyDeleteBecause when we have the thought or the feeling of discriminate someone we think that they are DIFFERENT and we are RIGHT !!
I sometimes feel intrested reading your blog But i try to avoid comment as much as i can:P lol
Any way AS you said it might be absurd ,,, but people still doing it , we do it sometimes because of the way we think or the way we believe..
Sometimes people start discriminating against a group of people after bad experiences with a few. For instance, discrimination against Muslims after the events of 9/11, even though the majority of American Muslims are most definately not terrorists and were as mortified as the rest of us by those events.
i agree with you, judging people by external appearance is superficial and often unfair. We should not judge a person by his appearance. People should not be naive about new people they meet, but should take time to get to know them.
